The Role

Forkast.News is looking for a Production Support Intern to join our growing editorial team. The internship will provide an inside look at what it's like to work at a fast-paced startup and is designed to provide students with real-world experience and exposure to working in the digital media industry.

You do not need to know much about blockchain or crypto, but any interest or background is a strong bonus – there will be many opportunities to gain experience and access to what's happening in blockchain, crypto, and digital transformation.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Internships last for the duration of the semester, with the possibility of extension. This is a remote position.

Job Duties

• Work with Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor, along with the broader editorial team on stories, story pitches, and publishing schedule
• Assist the editorial team with all aspects of the research and story lifecycle, including research, fact checks, analysis, and briefings on current and future story assignments
• Coordinate and research notes on upcoming guests, newsmakers, and projects
• Assist with scriptwriting for various interview segments and podcasts
• Opportunity to write stories for publish, with bylines, upon successful research and collaboration with the team
• Opportunity to attend editorial meetings and see the inner workings of a news organization

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree at a top-tier institution
• Thrives in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment – hungry and willing to roll up your sleeves
• Excellent communication skills (native English is preferred)
• AP Style Writing
• Skills in data analysis and data compilation are a bonus but not required
