What we're looking for

Forkast is looking for a Finance Lead to join our team, with an immediate start. You will oversee end-to-end finance operations, help shape our financial strategy, and manage our accounting and books (including the opportunity to manage cryptocurrency). This is a great opportunity for someone with finance/accounting experience to roll up their sleeves and make a meaningful impact for a fast-growing startup.

You will partner with the Operations team and be responsible for managing all aspects related to financial operations. Good analytical and communication skills are a must; you will also have a great eye for detail and be able to identify areas for improvement in financial procedures and control.

Responsibilities

• Support the CEO and COO with FP&A (budgeting and forecasting) and day-to-day cashflow / accounting processes
• Work closely with the COO on any upcoming capital fundraises
• Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
• Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, and similar accounting entries
• Lead the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers
• Manage the end-to-end audit process of current systems, while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors
• Assess financial operations workflows and propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout
• Deal with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts
• Assist with payroll processes and tax preparations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 2 years of experience in finance/banking/accounting roles
• Fully qualified accountant (CPA/CA/CIMA/ACCA) preferred
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles
• Broad understanding of accounting and finance best practices, laws, regulations, and industry trends, with the ability to conceptualize and recommend pragmatic new strategies and processes
