The Role

Forkast.News is hiring a Reporter to join the editorial team and cover the leading stories in digital assets and blockchain / DLT. The editorial team is comprised of journalists who take pride in serving our audience with insightful, original reporting. Our content is read by top institutional / retail investors, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives. This is an opportunity to have access to leading voices in the industry on a daily basis. Your written work will be shared across multimedia channels of print, video, and podcast. This role will work closely with our Managing Editor.

Forkast.News speaks to an audience of professionals and corporate decision-makers who are interested in developing a point of view on blockchain technology, digital assets, and Web 3.0.

We are looking for the right person to join the team, with room to grow. Our team is remote-first, primarily in Asia and Hong Kong. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Job Duties

• Monitor the latest business movements and trends in digital assets / crypto and stay on top of new developments that have regulatory, economic, and business impact, particularly from an Asia perspective
• Work with editorial leadership to pitch, draft, and publish story ideas to completion on a daily basis
• Ability to augment editorial coverage with market trends, insights, charts, data, analysis is a plus
• Contribute to new coverage ideas and product ideas
• Engage in-person or on social media with industry professionals and independently find interview sources for original reporting

Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years of experience as a writer with a digital publisher or newsroom equivalent, preferably covering business or technology
• Applicant must be a versatile reporter / writer, comfortable turning around breaking news stories quickly under tight deadlines and also capable of writing smart, insightful, and engaging news analyses, profiles, and longer trend stories
• Thrives in a fast-paced, decentralized startup environment – hungry and willing to roll up your sleeves
• Ability to write muscular prose about emerging technology and complex issues in a way that is clear-eyed and free of jargon but also in a sophisticated manner for Forkast's professional readership
• As this would be a remote position, our ideal candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently but also collaboratively to co-author stories
• Strong interest in digital assets, blockchain, and crypto; familiarity with concepts in digital assets / crypto is highly preferred
